Why Join?
The Australian Indigenous Health Promotion Network is an organisation controlled by its members.
Here you will be able to keep up-to-date on the latest movements in Indigenous health policy and any related events. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to participate in discussion about policy and strategic approaches in Indigenous Health.
As a member you will have the opportunity to:
meet and learn from other Indigenous practitioners, researchers, and policy makers about effective health promotion in communities across the country and internationally
contribute community needs and perspectives on problems and solutions that require state or national action
take part in local, state, and national policy reviews and policy development in a variety of ways:
- receive policy documents
- comment on policy documents
- join a policy review group to propose policy options on priority health issues
receive support for career development
learn about professional development opportunities including training programs, exchange programs, web-based programs
keep up to date with new research, new programs, new resources
learn about funding opportunities for programs or for research or for scholarships
learn about educational opportunities
contribute to national or local course development and review
Who can join?
Anyone with an interest in working with Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Island people to promote health can apply to be a member of the Network. Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders who work to promote the health of their communities are particularly encouraged to join.
